Jamsession < 20 years
This year, Hart Haarlem and Music on the Block, are hosting monthly jam sessions at Slachthuis Haarlem for young people aged 20 and under. Every first Monday of the month, you are welcome to come and play your own instrument in a relaxed setting, guided by a professional musician. It’s the perfect place to meet fellow musicians—and who knows, you might even find your future bandmates! A jam session is an event where musicians gather to create spontaneous, unscripted music together. Whether you play an instrument or sing, you’re invited to join in. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or experience level. If you can play a few basic chords, you’re ready to jam! The monthly jam session at Slachthuis is a low-threshold event designed to encourage young people to make music together more often. It’s a fun way to meet other musicians and make friends who share your passion for music. Want to find future bandmates? This is the place to be. Prefer just to listen? You’re more than welcome to hang out. Already in a band? Existing bands are encouraged to come by and showcase their sound. Sometimes a jam session can turn into beautiful chaos. To keep things on track and provide guidance, a "conductor" is often needed to lead the way. That’s why the monthly sessions at Slachthuis are hosted and coached by Joshua Aaron.
